I love my multiple screen set-ups. I believe that there is no such thing as information overload. The more data I get to squeeze into my screens without getting eye strain the better. As someone who trades almost daily in the stock market, I find that having multiple screens showing different stocks and analytics in all their real time glory makes trading more efficient and enjoyable.
Of course, having multiple screens with tons of information simultaneously beaming at you can be a bit disorienting. Without the proper software tool and driver you would have to spend more time clicking on buttons and dragging windows than actually focusing on the task at hand. I’ve found a few apps that makes Windows adapt to a multiple screen setup. The application I got to try and finally settled on is the Actual Multiple Monitors. I’m sure there are a other apps that are as capable or even better but I am more than satisfied with the bells and whistles I get from this software. A couple of the features that stand out is the extend taskbar function which allows me to access the Windows bar in every screen I am currently using. Basically every every screen has a taskbar that shows the apps that are open in that particular display. There is also a way to organize desktop icons across your multiple
screens and keeps them in that order until you decide to re-shuffle them again.
I can’t stress enough the convenience and joy having several screens for work and especially for play. At the very least invest in a dual monitor setup. It is worth every penny if you ask me.
